We’ve always struggled to get “US” on paper, but let’s give it a go!

As we remember it - on the literal hottest day of summer 2014 and maybe of our entire lives,
we photographed our first wedding together and honestly, the rest is history.

We were so eager to launch our business and one of the greatest adventures of our lives that our name seemed inconsequential at the time. We registered our business as Rustic Light Photography and carried on for 9 years documenting love stories and chasing moments worth remembering. It wasn’t until a long drive through the Nevada desert on the way to Joshua Tree (what better place to do some soul searching) that we realized we needed something more from our name—something that truly reflected “US”. While seeking out the perfect words we came across a poem by Nikita Gill that said, “Wild embers explores the fire that lies within every soul.” That’s when we knew…

That is “US”. The thing inside everyone that can be set ablaze by life’s passion
the warmth of being at home in your own skin, the spark of our human uniqueness
the soul stirring burn that cannot be extinguished

—we are all Wild Embers.

Now, everyday we try to embody and inspire that notion in our work. We translate the passion of moments and incredible adventures into emotive imagery that will stand the test of time.

If you can't tell yet, we are sappy, hopeless romantics to the max. We read poetry for fun, binge watch period dramas, and think some of the greatest love stories are between people and their pets. If you can relate, you’re our people!

LET’S DO THIS!

Colleen and Amanda are the absolute best! Our engagement and wedding photos came out amazing and we still cannot stop looking at them. Prior to our engagement shoot, we’d never had professional photos taken but they made us feel so relaxed and guided us through the whole session. We were a little nervous about how our dog would react to them/the cameras but even she loved them. On our wedding day we felt totally comfortable and had a blast with them. We truly feel like they captured our personalities. They are also incredibly responsive and flexible. They gave us great recommendations on other vendors, helped us with the wedding day timeline, and had great suggestions for photo locations. We are so happy with our decision and highly recommend them!

The two ladies of Wild Embers Photography captured our wedding day with photos more beautiful than I even thought possible. Colleen and Amanda developed a relationship with me and my now husband months before the wedding, it felt like friends were photographing us, which made us very comfortable and that showed in our expressions. Even the posed portrait pictures look like a real moment in time. I am so thankful to have had them as our photographers, but also as friends in our life because they are just that wonderful :) Thank you Amanda and Colleen - your passion really shows through your work and I'm so grateful we met. I will treasure these incredible photos my whole life.

We cannot express how much fun you made our day. Had we not gone and taken those pictures with you, we would not have any moments alone that day. We laughed and had so much fun with you both but somehow you also made it an intimate and meaningful part of our day.

Ciao, I’m Amanda!

Ruthlessly kind, with a 2nd degree black belt just in case (seriously). Afraid of bugs, but will also save you from one. Super gullible and a fan of “that’s what she said” jokes. Knows the entire footloose routine and will break out the moves at your wedding. Would die happy in a book store or at a Cardi B concert. Plagued by motion sickness, but remains a world traveler nonetheless.

Hey there, I’m Colleen!

Your go-to sidekick for impromptu adventures. Can most often be found snuggling with my two pups and husband on the couch avoiding that pile of laundry that needs folded. Healthy addiction to Rom-Coms, fizzy water, and the snooze button. Dreams of moving to Scotland to be with the Highland Cows and forever crying at father-daughter dances.
